Ir Ringo Yu is a dedicated professional who has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the field of engineering, the promotion of the profession, and community service. Since graduating from McGill University in 1982 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics, he has actively engaged in the construction industry.
Over the years, he has acquired expertise in utilizing construction materials for the development of Gotech HK. Additionally, he was a member of the Construction Industry Council, the former President of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (2018-2020), and the former vice-president of the Hong Kong Construction Association. In these influential roles, he actively contributes to the industry’s progression, facilitating its continuous growth and development.
Furthermore, Ir Ringo Yu strongly advocates for green construction practices and sustainable development. His previous role as a Board Director of the Hong Kong Green Building Council exemplifies his commitment to promoting environmentally friendly construction practices. Additionally, he demonstrates his care for construction workers by chairing the Senior Worker Assessment/Specified Training Course Committee of the Construction Workers Registration Board. In this capacity, drawing upon his extensive work experience, he harnesses his construction expertise to develop environmentally friendly building materials that prioritize sustainability within the realm of green building construction in Hong Kong.
